We are three kids who are trying to fundraise for a charity called the AEP. After the devastating explosion in Beirut on the 4th of August, the work of the AEP is so important to helping people to recover and make a fresh start.

Our grandmother - that's her looking cool in the photo - helped to set up the AEP and she is now trying to raise money for the charity to help people in Lebanon.

The AEP is a charity that lends money to people who have small businesses. For example, a bakery that was forced to relocate because a bigger competitor was blocking parking space. The baker called the AEP to borrow $4000. With this money she managed to find a new spot and had enough money to refurbish her bakery.

Other examples include: a farmer who needed to get a better irrigation system; and a new fridge for a grocery store in a poor neighbourhood.

Many of these small businesses now need your help and the help of the AEP.

Home: Who We Are

What happened on the 4th of August 2020?

On the 4th of August 2020 an explosion struck the capital of Lebanon. We think at least 135 people were killed and thousands injured. Many homes, businesses, shops, and property were destroyed or partly afflicted.

People out of Beirut were also economically hurt as many of their buyers could not buy anything. Even houses that were not in Beirut had their glass shattered

Many businesses are now out of business and others cannot continue selling as their clients cannot buy.

Lebanon is an agricultural land and so farmers are also struggling from loss of clients.

300,000 people had to move out of their homes entirely because of damage from the blast.
